DERİNOZKEN ARCHITECTURE LIMITED COMPANY
Ozken Architects is an architecture practice founded in 2012 by Derin Özken in Istanbul. The practice, managed by Gizem Özken and Derin Özken, provides architecture services to local and foreign investors and institutions.
Ozken Architects provides design, project planning, project management and construction services from small to large scale projects. Designs are drawn on the basis of international drawing standards and during the project phase technical specifications are prepared for project management purposes. During the construction phase, projects are build by supplying materials, workshop production and site management. The projects completed by Ozken Architects include office, hotel, residential projects and a church restoration project carried out in various cities such as Istanbul, Izmir, Bursa and Ankara and projects in free zones.
Ozken Architects aims to establish design processes through data and information and works for a transparent and effective construction process. The projects are carried out by architects who are aware of their professional responsibilities, taking into consideration the future of natural and built environment. The projects aim to find solutions to the changing problems of today and to produce new values.
Born in 1987 in France. She started her architectural education in Uludağ University and continued at Ecole Nationale Superieure d’Architecture de Paris-Belleville. She completed her master’s degree at Istanbul Technical University in 2014 with her thesis “Ambiguous Spaces”. Between 2009 and 2018, she worked at Konuralp Architecture Office and led a wide range of projects, including the Zincirlikuyu Highways Directorate Building Reconstruction project. In addition to her work, she has realized exhibitions and researched broadly Italian Architecture in Dodecanese, Greece. She has joined Ozken Architects in 2018.
Born in 1982 in Istanbul. He completed his high school education in Kadiköy Anadolu Lisesi. During his high school years he traveled to Europe twice with Interrail. He competed for the national team in sailing, a sport he started during elementary school. In 2001, he co-hosted a radio show called Strawberry Bricks on Açık Radyo. He studied architecture at the London Architectural Association (AA) and completed his studies with the project “Modern Ornament”. He worked in Foster + Partners in London and in Tabanlıoğlu architecture office in Istanbul. In the second half of 2012, he founded Ozken Architecture company. He was a unit master at Bahçeşehir University and Medipol University between 2013-2018. As of 2019, besides his office projects, he researches on symbolism in architecture in order to extend his research on modern ornament.
